Project overview

Before

Pioneer Solutions already used Codelattice for its main domain, while its second domain, mkdm.co, sat outside Codelattice's console. One user needed Business Standard and the rest of the team did not, and handling two Google Workspace relationships meant two places to chase for answers.

After

Both domains now sit under one Codelattice console. One ID runs on Business Standard, and the pooled storage that comes with it is switched on and usable by employees, with Google Workspace support from the same team.

The challenge

Pioneer Solutions designs and supplies embedded touchscreen solutions for healthcare, hospitality, retail and industrial customers, and its products are built to last and stay serviceable. The company also works with customers on custom products from first design through to production. That work depends on files and approvals moving smoothly between engineers, suppliers and customers, so the team's Google Workspace setup is part of how the business runs.

Pioneer already used Codelattice for its main domain. When a requirement came up for a second domain, mkdm.co, the team chose to bring it across instead of managing two arrangements. The next request was narrower: only one user needed Business Standard, so a full plan change for everyone made no sense. Codelattice handled the upgrade with Google's support team and mentioned that pooled storage comes with the plan. The challenge showed up later. Once the upgrade was live, the team could not use the pooled storage, and they came back for help.

Five issues needed solving:

Two domains, two arrangements. The second domain sat outside Codelattice's console, so admin tasks, licence questions and support requests followed a different path from the main domain.

A single-user upgrade. Business Standard was needed for one ID only, which called for a partial upgrade through Google instead of changing every licence on the domain.

Pooled storage not in use. The allowance included with Business Standard was available on paper but not usable by employees after the upgrade, which left the benefit they had just heard about out of reach.

A gap that surfaced late. The problem appeared only after the team started using the account, so the fix arrived as a follow-up request rather than as part of the upgrade itself.

Speed of resolution. Pioneer had chosen Codelattice for quick turnaround, so a storage problem left open for long would have undercut the reason for moving the domain.

Our approach

Codelattice treated this as three connected tasks rather than separate tickets: bring the domain across, upgrade the single ID, and make sure the storage that came with the upgrade worked for the people using it. Each step was handled with Google's support team where required.

The sequence mattered. Moving the domain first meant every later change happened in one console, and handling the upgrade as a partial change kept Pioneer from paying for licences it didn't need. The follow-up on storage came when the team reported it, and was closed at the admin end.

Step 1

Bringing the mkdm.co domain under Codelattice's console

Pioneer asked to move its second domain to Codelattice because the first one already ran well with the team. Codelattice moved the account across to its console, which put both domains under the same Google Workspace partner in India and the same support process. For Pioneer, that meant one team to contact for admin changes, licence questions and Google Workspace support, instead of working out which vendor handled which domain.

Step 2

Upgrading one ID to Business Standard

Only one user needed Business Standard, so Codelattice worked with Google support to upgrade that single ID rather than moving the whole domain. A partial upgrade is also a pricing decision: Pioneer pays for the larger plan only where it is needed, which matters when comparing Google Workspace pricing in India across plans. During the call, Codelattice also pointed out that Business Standard includes pooled storage, a benefit the team was glad to hear about.

Step 3

What pooled storage means and why it matters here

Pooled storage means Google adds up the storage allowance for each licensed user and lets the organization share it, instead of locking a fixed amount to each account. On Google's published plans, Business Starter includes 30 GB per user and Business Standard includes 2 TB per user.

Business StarterBusiness Standard
Pooled storage per user30 GB2 TB
Storage shared across the organizationYesYes
Maximum users per plan300300

For a team where one ID carries the larger plan, understanding how that allowance is shared is what turns an upgrade into something employees can actually use.

Step 4

Setting up pooled storage at the admin end

When the team began using the upgraded account, they found they could not draw on the pooled storage. They contacted Codelattice, and the support team carried out the required setup on the admin side so employees could use it. The fix was handled as a follow-up to the original upgrade, once Pioneer's team noticed the gap. Because Codelattice already managed both domains, there was no handoff between vendors, and the request went to the same team that had done the upgrade.

What was delivered

Pioneer Solutions: Google Workspace Transfer and Pooled Storage

The engagement produced a consolidated account and a working storage setup:

  • mkdm.co account transferred to Codelattice's console, alongside Pioneer's main domain.
  • One user ID upgraded to Business Standard through a partial upgrade with Google support.
  • A briefing on the pooled storage included with Business Standard, shared while the upgrade was discussed.
  • Admin-side configuration so employees can use the pooled storage after the upgrade.
  • A single point of contact for licences, admin changes and Google Workspace support across both domains.
  • 24/7 technical support at no extra cost, running on this account since August 2022.

Results

Pioneer's team now runs both domains through one partner and uses the storage that came with its upgrade. What began as a transfer request has become a continuing Google Workspace support relationship that has run since August 2022.

  • 2 domains, the main one and mkdm.co, now sit under a single Codelattice console with one support route.
  • 1 ID upgraded to Business Standard, adding the 2 TB per-user pooled storage allowance that Google lists for the plan.
  • 4+ years of support on this account since August 2022, including the follow-up that made pooled storage work for employees.

Why Codelattice

Pioneer Solutions picked Codelattice for its second domain because it had already seen how quickly issues got resolved on the first one. That choice sums up what many businesses look for in a Google Workspace partner in India: fast answers, one team to call and a partner willing to come back to a problem after the ticket looks closed.

What made the difference:

  • One vendor for every domain. Bringing mkdm.co under the same console as the main domain meant licences, admin changes and support requests all went to one team, which saved Pioneer from tracking who handled what.
  • Upgrades sized to the need. Upgrading a single ID through Google support kept Pioneer from changing plans for users who did not need them, which keeps Google Workspace pricing in India proportionate to actual use.
  • Storage that works after the upgrade. Telling Pioneer about pooled storage was only half the job, so when the team could not use it, Codelattice completed the admin-side setup instead of treating the upgrade as closed.
  • Support that stays available. With 24/7 technical support at no extra cost, Pioneer's follow-up went straight to a team that already knew the account, which is what good Google Workspace support looks like in practice.
